Simpson Defeats Florida National for 2025 CAC Women’s Volleyball Title
No. 4-seeded Simpson University (California) had to dig deep to win the 2025 Continental Athletic Conference Women's Volleyball Championship Tournament title on Saturday at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas.
The Red Hawks (17-16) overcame a 2-0 set deficit to win their semifinal match against fellow California rival No. 6 seed Westcliff University by a 3-2 score.
Then, Simpson defeated top-seeded Florida National in four sets by 25-19, 25-17, 21-25, 25-16 scores to claim the program's first CAC title.
Mariah Napoleon paced the team's offensive performance in the championship match with 18 kills, while Heath Elizabeth and Tiara Manns each recorded 11 kills. Kierski Howell and Kare Ann Oshiro rounded out the balanced attack each with 10 kills.
Brooke Sarahina recorded 29 assists to go along with 12 digs. Brooklyn Jimenez tallied 23 digs defensively.
Florida National (17-18) advanced to the title match with a four-set victory against fellow Florida rival No. 2 seed Florida College.
Kitula Amaya Morales posted 11 kills and 14 digs to lead the Conquistadors in the final. Ariana Long recorded 17 digs and Keelee Okoro had five blocked shots.
By reaching the championship match, Simpson and Florida National earned the CAC's automatic bids to the NAIA national tournament.
