2021 CAC Volleyball Awards Announced
Florida College junior outside hitter Emma Noskey has been named the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) volleyball Player of the Year for her strong play for the Falcons during the league's inaugural 2021 season.
Florida National University garnered three of the five postseason specialty awards, with senior Carolina Arrais Dantas selected Libero of the Year and Ariana Long as Freshman of the Year. Carlos Huaroto-Luque earned the Coach of the Year honor.
Meanwhile, Florida College sophomore Emilie Selvidge was chosen as Setter of the Year.
Noskey led the CAC with 431 kills and ranked second in the league by averaging 3.06 kills per set. Her .228 hitting percentage also stood second best among conference players in 2021. Noskey's strong play led the Falcons to a runner-up finish at last weekend's conference tournament.
Dantas tallied 261 digs and averaged 3.58 digs per set for Florida National. She appeared in 24 matches during the team's CAC championship season.
Long posted 246 kills and registered 274 digs to go along with 20 blocks in 26 matches this fall for the Conquistadors.
Huaroto-Luque led FNU to a 15-11 record and No. 1 CAC tournament seed through play in the regular season and tournament pool play that culminated with the 2021 conference championship. Florida National defeated Florida College 3-1 in last Saturday's title match.
Selvidge led the CAC with 773 assists and stood fifth best in the conference with a 5.22 average of assists per set across 40 matches for the Falcons. She also contributed 307 digs defensively and had 32 service aces to help pace the team's offense.
