Georgia Gwinnett College’s Beaver, Florida National’s Beteta Earn Final CAC Softball Weekly Awards for 2025 Season
Georgia Gwinnett College freshman Casey Beaver and Florida National University senior Brunella Beteta have earned the final Continental Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week awards for the 2025 season.
Beaver, the Hitter of the Week, batted .467 (7-for-15), drove in three runs and scored three runs to set the table as the Grizzlies closed out the regular season with four straight wins last week. The outfielder from Gainesville, Georgia, went 5-for-8 in a doubleheader sweep at College of Coastal Georgia last Tuesday. She also had four stolen bases in the 13-3 victory during the second game of the day.
The next day, Beaver delivered a go-ahead two RBI single in the ninth inning of the team's 3-1 victory at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (Georgia).
Beteta, the Pitcher of the Week, allowed just one run for the Conquistadors in a 5-1 victory against the University of Fort Lauderdale (Florida) last Tuesday.
The Lima, Peru, native had a 1.14 WHIP (walks and hits allowed per innings pitched) against the National Christian College Athletic Association's No. 1-ranked team.
Postseason play begins this week in the CAC Softball Championship tournament, taking place May 1-3 at Georgia Gwinnett College's Grizzly Softball Complex in Lawrenceville, Georgia. Host GGC will be joined by Simpson University (California), Florida National and Westcliff University (California) in the double-elimination tournament.
