California Schools Sweep CAC Softball Weekly Awards

La Sierra University (California) senior Lidia Flores and Simpson University (California) sophomore Jacquelyn Lujan have been named the Continental Athletic Conference Softball Players of the Week.

Flores, the Hitter of the Week, batted .550 (11-for-20), with nine RBI, and scored seven runs across six games. She went 2-for-3 and hit a home run in a 9-4 win against Arizona Christian University last Friday.

The senior utility player collected three hits in the first game of the doubleheader. Flores then registered two hits and had a double in an 11-3 win against Grace University (Nebraska) on Sunday.

Lujan, the Pitcher of the Week, went 2-0 and recorded a pair of saves across five appearances against CAC opponent Westcliff University (California). She posted a 0.34 earned run average across 22.2 innings for the week.

The sophomore started the week with a one-hitter, with four strikeouts, in a 2-0 win last Thursday. Lujan then recorded eight strikeouts in a three-hit shutout in the opener of a doubleheader the next day.
