Westcliff’s Mueller, Spartanburg Methodist’s Kiser Named CAC Softball Players of the Week
Westcliff University (California) junior Kayli Mueller and Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina) sophomore Bailey Kiser have collected the Continental Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week awards.
Mueller, the Hitter of the Week, batted .385, drove in 10 runs and scored four runs across six games last week. The utility player went 2-for-3, with four RBI, in a 4-2 win against Dickinson State (North Dakota) last Wednesday. Both of her hits were homers in the contest. Mueller also had two doubles to have a 1.000 slugging percentage for the week.
Kiser, the Pitcher of the Week, went 1-0 and had a 0.48 earned run average across two games for the Pioneers. She struck out 10 batters during the week, including eight in a 4-0 shutout triumph against Bluefield College (Virginia) last Saturday. Kiser allowed just one hit in that performance.
