Westcliff’s Chioino, Georgia Gwinnett College’s Jarvis Named CAC Softball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week

Strong performances at the plate and in the pitching circle have earned Westcliff University (California) junior Raegan Chioino and Georgia Gwinnett College senior Annalise Jarvis recognition as the Continental Athletic Conference Softball Players of the Week.

Chionio, the Hitter of the Week, batted .500 (3-for-6), had two RBI and scored three runs in a pair of 8-0 victories against Grace University (Nebraska) last Wednesday. She tallied a pair of doubles in the opening game of the doubleheader sweep.

Jarvis, the Pitcher of the Week, tossed her sixth career no-hitter in last Saturday's 1-0 win at Thomas University (Georgia) to complete a doubleheader sweep for the No. 9-ranker Grizzlies. She struck out 14 batters in the dominant performance. For the week, Jarvis had a 2-1 record, with one save, and a 0.58 earned run average across five appearances.

The Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, native began the week with another 14-strikeout performance in a complete-game outing against Truett-McConnell University (Georgia) last Tuesday.
