CAC Men’s Soccer Announces Player of the Week Awards to Open September

Florida National University junior David Luque and Hesston College (Kansas) sophomore Ethan Connelly have been named the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Players of the Week to begin the month of September.

Luque, the offensive honoree, had an impressive four goals across two matches for the Conquistadors. The Seville, Spain, native scored a hat trick against Ave Maria University (Florida) last Monday. He then added the match-winning goal at Southeastern University (Florida) last Saturday. For the week, Luque tallied eight points, with two match-winning goals, and 10 shots.

Connelly, the defensive award winner, had a stellar performance as Hesston picked up its first win as an NAIA program with a 2-0 shutout victory against Bethany University (Kansas). The Oklahoma City native stopped two shots in that match. Connelly then made an astonishing 13 saves against Sterling College (Kansas) last Thursday.
