Strong Performances Close Out August CAC Men’s Soccer Weekly Honorees

Georgia Gwinnett College freshman Ousmane Fall and Bellevue University (Nebraska) sophomore Kaden Simpson turned in strong performances to earn the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week awards to close out the first month of the regular season.

Fall, the offensive recipient, made quite the first impression by scoring two goals in his home debut last Thursday. The forward put three of his four shots on goal in the Grizzlies' 3-0 victory against Lawrence Tech (Michigan). The Dakar, Senegal, native weaved around the goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation to score the eventual match-winning goal in the 19th minute. He later found the back of the net in the 36th minute as the team scored three first-half goals.

Simpson, the defensive honoree, allowed just one goal across two matches against a pair of top-25 opponents. The Omaha, Nebraska, native made a career-high nine saves in a scoreless draw against No. 23 Clarke University (Iowa) last Saturday. He stopped 16 of the 17 shots he has faced this season and has a 0.25 goals against average. Simpson is tops in the NAIA with three shutouts.
