Florida College’s Solis, Georgia Gwinnett College’s Diop Receive Final CAC Men’s Soccer Weekly Awards for 2024 Season

Florida College junior Jhon Solis and Georgia Gwinnett College freshman Amadou Diop have received the final Continental Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Player of the Week awards for the 2024 season.

Solis, the offensive honoree, scored twice in the Falcons' 3-1 road win against Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina) last Thursday. The forward attempted six shots, with three being on goal. He found the back of the net for the eventual match-winning goal of the season.

Diop, the defensive award winner, helped the Grizzlies finish the regular season with an unbeaten 1-0-1 mark, scoring twice in a 2-2 draw against NCAA Division II University of North Georgia last Saturday. He anchored a defense that posted a shutout and allowed just one shot in a 6-0 home win against Florida College last Tuesday.

Six CAC teams will now compete in the league's 2024 championship tournament, starting on Saturday, November 9, at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Georgia. The tournament's seedings and schedule can be found HERE.
