Florida National’s Sette Ribeiro, Florida College’s Borka Earn CAC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week Awards

Florida National University sophomore Filipe Sette Ribeiro and Florida College junior Filip Borka have been named the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Players of the Week.

Sette Ribeiro, the offensive honoree, scored two goals in a 3-1 win against Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina), the Conquistadors' first win of the 2024 season. That victory came in the FNU Classic, which also featured CAC teams Florida College and Spartanburg Methodist. The Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, native tallied seven shots in the two matches during the classic.

Borka, the defensive honoree, contributed to a pair of wins against CAC teams at the FNU Classic. The goalkeeper made nine saves in a 2-1 victory against Spartanburg Methodist last Friday. The Prague, Czech Republic, native then had seven saves in a 3-2 win against Florida National, a team receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll. For the week, Borka allowed just three goals and made 16 saves in 180 minutes of action.
