Wiley’s Ulloa, Bellevue’s Hedge Receives CAC Men’s Soccer Player of the Week Awards

Goal-scoring performances have led to Wiley University (Texas) freshman Anthony Ulloa and Bellevue University (Nebraska) junior Fletcher Hedge being named the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Players of the Week.

Ulloa, the Offensive Player of the Week, recorded a hat trick and provided an assist to lift the Wildcats to their second straight victory with a 4-1 win against Tougaloo College (Mississippi). The midfielder scored the first goals of his career in that match.

The Houston, Texas, native is now tied for fourth in the CAC with three goals and stands fifth among all players with seven points.

Hedge, the Defensive Player of the Week, scored the match-winning goal with five seconds left in a 2-1 victory against Morningside University (Iowa) last Saturday. The Beccles, England, native hit an absolute screamer of a shot from the edge of the 18-yard box back across goal for the match-winner.

The center back also anchored a defensive unit that allowed 13 shots, with only six finding their way on goal for the week.
