Spartanburg Methodist’s Outhous, Altman Named CAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

A pair of Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina) sophomores have earned the Continental Athletic Conference Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athlete of the Week awards.

Sophia Outhous, the Athlete of the Week, won the 400-meter hurdles (1:07.33) with the 12th fastest time in the NAIA at the Montreat Open in Black Mountain, North Carolina last Friday.

The Irmo, South Carolina, native was a member of the fifth-place 4-x-800-meter relay team that ran the third fastest time in program history. She was also a member of the mixed 4-x-400-meter relay team that set a school record.

Anna Altman, the field recipient, recorded her second-best toss of the season with a javelin throw of 17.66 meters at the Montreat Open last Saturday. Her throw placed 11th in the event.
