Georgia Gwinnett College Duo Claim CAC Women’s Soccer Weekly Awards
Georgia Gwinnett College junior Rikke Steenhold and freshman Alliyah Rosales have been selected as the Continental Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Players of the Week after helping lead the No. 25-ranked Grizzlies to a pair of conference matches.
GGC outscored the opposition by a commanding 19-0 margin while hosting the CAC Classic last weekend.
Steenhold, the defensive honoree, tallied four points with a goal and two assists for the week. The defender from Fredericia, Denmark, native found the back of the net and provided those two assists during the first half in last Saturday's victory against Florida National University. She also contributed to a defense that posted two shutouts.
For the season, Steenhold has contributed four goals, while last week's two assists were her first for the 2025 season.
Rosales, the offensive honoree, had a breakthrough week for the Grizzlies, scoring goals in both CAC Classic matches. She had three tallies, including her first career multiple-goal performance, in last Friday's victory against Carolina University (North Carolina). The Dalton, Georgia, native had five of her six shots on the opposing goal.
Rosales is tied for team-high honors with five goals and is tied for second with 12 points.
Georgia Gwinnett College (8-5-3) is scheduled to conclude the regular season with a pair of home matches. Up first comes a contest against No. 12 Life University (Georgia) on Wednesday, October 22, at the Grizzly Soccer Complex, starting at 7 p.m. Then, the team hosts Milligan University (Tennessee) for Senior Day on Saturday, October 25, beginning at 1 p.m.
