Jamestown’s Sarkis, Fisher’s Leo Receive CAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week Awards

A pair of seniors from University of Jamestown (North Dakota) and Fisher College (Massachusetts) have received the Continental Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week awards as the fall sports calendar flips to November.

Jamestown's Gaby Sarkis earned the Offensive Player of the Week, while Fisher's Olivia Leo was named the Defensive Player of the Week.

Sarkis scored four goals and tallied two assists in a pair of wins. The midfielder scored twice in each match for the Jimmies. The Sydney, Australia, native had two goals and two assists in a 5-2 win at Morningside University (Iowa) last Saturday. She also found the back of the net twice in a 4-1 road triumph against Northwestern College (Iowa) last Thursday. Sarkis attempted nine shots, with five of them being on goal.

Leo made 17 saves across two matches for the Falcons. The Dunmore, Pennsylvania, native stopped eight of nine shots in a 3-1 win last Monday against fellow CAC opponent Washington Adventist University (Maryland). The goalkeeper recorded nine saves in a shutout against the University of Maine Fort Kent last Saturday.
