Bellevue Garners Three Special Awards as 2022 CAC Women’s Soccer All-Conference Teams Are Announced

The top seeded Bellevue University (Nebraska) has garnered three special awards as the 2022 Continental Athletic Conference Women's Soccer all-conference teams have been announced on the eve of the league's championship tournament.

Bellevue's Ximena Jauregui was named the Player of the Year while the Bruins' Jenn Amaro was the Goalkeeper of the Year and Tom White was Coach of the Year. Grace Breuchel of Viterbo University (Wisconsin) was chosen as the Newcomer of the Year.

Bellevue led the postseason honors with eight all-conference selections across the first and second teams at forward, midfielders, defenders, and goalkeepers. Georgia Gwinnett College had six all-league honorees while USC Beaufort and Viterbo each had four awardees. Fisher College (Massachusetts), Florida College and Iowa Wesleyan University had one all-conference player this fall.

The special and all-conference honors were selected by CAC coaches.

Jauregui leads the Bruins with 25 points behind a team-leading nine assists while being tied for the team lead with eight goals. The midfielder is a two-way player who also has contributed to Bellevue's strong season as a defender during the season.

Amaro posted nine shutouts in 16 regular season matches, with a 0.63 goals against average. She had shutouts in all five CAC matches this season, including victories against Iowa Wesleyan and Georgia Gwinnett College at the CAC Classic in mid-October.

White led the Bellevue to a 12-3-1 record and the top seed heading into postseason play. The team won all five matches against league opponents and received votes in multiple NAIA Top 25 polls during the regular season.

Meanwhile, Breuchel headlines Viterbo's offensive attack with 24 goals and 50 points after making 66 shots. The forward was honored three times as the CAC's Offensive Player of the Week.
