Georgia Gwinnett College’s Adame, Giuliano Pace 2021 CAC Women’s Soccer Awards

Georgia Gwinnett College junior midfielder Addie Adame and Head Coach Dr. Mike Giuliano have received the Continental Athletic Conference (CAC) women's soccer Player and Coach of the Year awards to headline postseason awards for the league's inaugural fall season.

In other specialty honors, Sabrina Staufenbiel of Bellevue University (Nebraska) earned the Goalkeeper of the Year award, while Lauren Wedig of Viterbo University (Wisconsin) was named the Newcomer of the Year.

Adame anchored the Grizzlies' offense with 11 goals and four assists for 26 points. She scored three game-winning goals and started all 18 matches. Adame is receiving the Player of the Year recognition for the first time in her career.

Giuliano guided Georgia Gwinnett College to the CAC tournament championship and the team is preparing for further postseason play with an 11-6-1 record.

Staufenbiel led the Bruins by making 86 saves in 18 matches this fall. The senior was strong in front of the team's goal in matches against Viterbo and Georgia Gwinnett College in the league tournament.

Wedig tallied eight goals and two assists during her first season for the V-Hawks. The freshman forward scored 18 points and netted two game-winning goal for a team that reached the CAC semifinal round.
