A.I.I. Women's Soccer Major Award Winners Announced

November 24, 2009 - Cal State University San Marcos goalkeeper Kaycee Gunion and Ohio Dominican University head coach Jonathan Meade have been named the 2009 Association of Institutions Player and Coach of the Year, the conference office announced on Tuesday. The conference also released the 2009 A.I.I. Women's Soccer First and Second All-Conference Team selections.

A native of Santee, California, sophomore goalkeeper Kaycee Gunion lifted Cal State San Marcos to an Association of Independent Institutions Championship in 2009. In 2009, Gunion posted a 0.540 goals against average over 18 games, posting an .809 save percentage.

In his first season at the helm at Ohio Dominican, head coach Jonathan Meade guided the Panthers to a 12-3-3 record in 2009, and an appearance in the Association of Independent Institutions Final.

Cal State San Marcos led all teams with five players selected to the A.I.I. First-Team, while Simon Fraser and ODU each placed four on the first team. Here is the final list of first and second team selections:
