Florida National’s Leurs, Arkansas Baptist’s Fry Selected as Season’s Final CAC Women’s Basketball Players of the Week
Florida National University senior Charlette Leurs and Arkansas Baptist College junior Jade Fry have earned the final Continental Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week awards for the 2024-25 season.
Leurs, the Offensive Player of the Week, scored 17 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in the Conquistadors' loss last Saturday to Florida Memorial University, a team receiving votes in the latest NAIA Top 25 national poll.
The Bronx, New York, native played 39 minutes in the contest and grabbed nine offensive rebounds. Leurs made seven of her 11 field goal attempts in the contest.
Fry, the Defensive Player of the Week, recorded five steals and grabbed four rebounds in the Buffaloes' 69-35 win against Ecclesia College (Arkansas) last Saturday.
The Denison, Texas, native also scored 18 points and had six assists in the contest.
Six teams have qualified to compete in the 2025 CAC Women's Basketball Championship Tournament, which begins Thursday, February 27, at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas.
