Washington Adventist Sweeps CAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Awards
Washington Adventist University (Maryland) junior Isabela Lujan-Gonzales and teammate senior Bethany Fowler have shared the latest Continental Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Players of the Week honors.
Lujan-Gonzales, the offensive honoree, averaged 25 points and 3.5 assists over a pair of victories for the Shock last week.
The Alexandria, Virginia, native made 11 of 12 of her free throws and four 3-point field goals in a 77-69 win against Moris College (South Carolina) last Friday. The junior followed by scoring 25 points by making 11 of 22 field goals one day later in an 80-73 triumph against Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina).
Fowler, the defensive honoree, averaged 10 points, six rebounds and six steals per contest last week.
The forward from Mount Airy, Maryland, recorded nine steals, grabbed five rebounds and collected 11 points in the Shock's victory over Morris. She had three steals and seven rebounds in a game against Spartanburg Methodist.
