Spartanburg Methodist Athletes Sweep Men’s Outdoor Track Player of the Week Awards

Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina) sophomore Romeo Brown and freshman Javion Brannon have earned the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track Player of the Week awards.

Brown, the Athlete event honoree, won the 100-meter dash (10.85 seconds) and placed second in the 200-meter dash (21.66) at the Montreat Open last Saturday in Black Mountain, North Carolina. The Newberry, South Carolina, native also ran the third leg on the 4-x-100-meter relay team that posted the fastest time in the CAC this outdoor season.

Brannon, the Field event recipient, set a personal best performance while placing ninth in the long jump (5.9 meters) at the Montreat Open. The Union, South Carolina, native has the best mark in the event this season among CAC field athletes.
