Spartanburg Methodist Sweeps CAC Men’s Outdoor Track Player of the Week Honors

Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina) sophomore Romeo Brown and freshman Javion Brannon have been named the first Continental Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track Players of the Week for the 2025 season.

Brown, the Athlete of the Week, clocked the second fastest time in program history in the 100- and 200-meter dash races at the Southern Wesleyan University/Susan Rouse Invitational last Saturday. The Newberry, South Carolina, native placed second in the 200-meter race with a time of 22.34, while collected a third-place finish in the 100-meter dash in 10.70.

Brannon, the Field Athlete of the Week, made a splash with his jump of 5.81 meters on the first leap of his collegiate career for the Pioneers. His performance is the best recorded by a CAC field athlete so far this season.
