University of Victoria Builds Lead Heading into Final Round of 2026 CAC Men’s Golf Championship
A strong second round has the University of Victoria (British Columbia) enjoying a 27-stroke lead heading into the final round of the 2026 Continental Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship, being contested on the Rockwind Community Links Golf Course in Hobbs, New Mexico. The tournament is being hosted by the University of the Southwest.
The No. 22-ranked Vikes posted a 303-stroke team score during Tuesday's 18-hole round. That was four strokes better than the team's first round to collect a 610 composite score after the first two rounds.
Hesston College (Kansas) stands in second place with a 637-stroke team score after back-to-back 318- and 319-stroke scores. Florida College is in third place by one shot and Alice Lloyd College (Kentucky) is in fourth with a 690 total. Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas) and Fisk University (Tennessee) round out the team standings with a 692 and 726 score, respectively.
Four of Victoria's players posted scores in the 70s during Tuesday's round, paced by Maguire Lines with a two-over-par 74-stroke score. He stands in fourth place individually with a 152 composite score. Teammate Jagre Knight carded a three-over-par 75 score in the second round to lead the tournament field with a 149-stroke score. Owen Croft had a 77 second-round score and stands second individually, trailing Knight by two strokes.
Hesston's Max Laser Edin is in fifth place with a 155-stroke composite score. He shot a five-over-par 77-stroke score on Tuesday. Teammate Liam Leikeryd stands seventh with a 158 score.
Florida College's James Ammirati carded a round of 78 in the second round and stands in sixth place with a 157-stroke composite score. Cannon Ford led the Falcons on Tuesday with a five-over-par 77-stroke score.
Fisk's Henry Baskin is tied for second place individually with a 151-stroke total score after carding a four-over-par 76 score in the second round.
The 2026 CAC Men's Golf Championship concludes with the final 18-hole round on Wednesday, April 29.
