University of Victoria Leads CAC Men’s Golf Championship After Strong First Day
Defending champion University of British Columbia (British Columbia) enjoys an 18-stroke lead after the first 36 holes of the 2025 Continental Athletic Conference Men's Golf Championship, taking place at the Paradise Pointe Golf Complex. The five-team tournament is being hosted by Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas).
Victoria has compiled a 622-stroke team score after two rounds on Monday, led by a 307 second-round score. The Vikes lead second-place Talladega College (Alabama), which has a 640 score, while Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina) is third with a 650 score. Haskell Indian Nations, with a 656 score, and Florida College, with a 660 score, round out the team standings.
Individually, Daniel Kirby carded two rounds in the 70s to lead the tournament field with a 153 composite score after two rounds. He opened the day with a four-over-par 76-stroke score. Kirby has a three-shot lead over teammates Chase Basanta, who had a two-over-par 74 score in the second round, and Maguire Lines, who had a 75 score during the first round.
Florida College's Lucas Wahlstrom carded a one-over-par 73-stroke score in the second round to join a three-way tie for second place, all with a 156 total score after two rounds.
Talladega's Izaiah Stewart paced the Tornadoes with a 157 score, led by a five-over-par 77 score in the second round.
Spartanburg Methodist's AJ Bolin is tied for fifth place with a 157 score.
The tournament is scheduled to conclude with the final 18 holes on Tuesday, April 29.
