Spartanburg Methodist Golfers Sweep CAC Weekly Awards

A pair of freshmen from Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina) have garnered the Continental Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week awards.

Lane Carr, the men's honoree, earned all-tournament honors at the Spring Tiger Collegiate Invitational by tying in fifth place out of 42 golfers in the event at the Chattahoochee Golf Club in Gainesville, Georgia. He posted a 153-stroke composite score while making five birdies – sharing the achievement for having the most birdies among all other tournament competitors. Carr carded a one-under-par 71 score in the second round.

Isabella Marz, the women's award recipient, had an eighth-place finish among 32 golfers at the Spring Golden Tiger Collegiate event. She led the Pioneers with 10 par scores and a birdie across the two 18-hole rounds. Marz had a 176 composite score in the 36-hole tournament.
