Upperclassmen Garner CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Awards

Strong performances have earned Washington Adventist University (Maryland) senior Chase Cook and Carolina University (North Carolina) junior Shawn Woodson recognition as the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Players of the Week.

Cook, the offensive honoree, averaged 23 points across three games for the Shock. The guard began the week by scoring 38 points on 17-of-31 field goal shooting in 97-88 loss to Fisher College (Massachusetts) last Monday. The Washington, D.C., native then had 22 points in an 83-80 victory against Carolina University (North Carolina) last Friday.

Woodson, the defensive award recipient, averaged 6.7 rebounds across three games last week. He scored 17 points, grabbed seven rebounds and had two steals in an 85-84 loss to Fisher last Saturday. The Los Angeles native also had seven rebounds against Washington Adventist. The guard only committed 2.7 fouls per contest. Seven of his 20 total rebounds were on the defensive end of the court.
