Florida National’s Arnum, Florida College’s Beauford Named CAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week

The two players from the Sunshine State have earned the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Players of the Week honors after turning in strong performances during last weekend's CAC Classic.

Florida National University sophomore Jeremy Arnum received the Offensive Player of the Week award after scoring 30 points in a contest against Fisher College (Massachusetts) last Friday. He shot 10 of 15 (67%) from the floor, including seven 3-pointers, in the victory.

The Torrington, Connecticut, native averaged 18 points and shot 48.8% as the Conquistadors had a 2-1 record for the week against CAC opponents. Arnum scored 10 points in a 79-73 win against in-state foe Florida College last Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Florida College junior Malik Beauford was the Defensive Player of the Week after posting a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in a 71-68 win against Fisher last Saturday. All 10 of those rebounds came on the defensive side of the court.

The Palatka, Florida, native averaged 6.3 rebounds and 15.7 points per game as Florida College went 2-1 for the week.
