Carolina’s Polk, Spartanburg Methodist’s Bayonne Open 2025 with CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Awards

A pair of seniors have opened the 2025 calendar year by earning the Continental Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week awards.

Carolina University (North Carolina) forward Aundree Polk, the offensive honoree, scored 41 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a 72-64 win against William Peace University (North Carolina) last Friday. He shot 46.7% from the floor by making 14 of 30 field goals, including four 3-pointers. Polk also made nine of 13 free throws in the contest.

Meanwhile, Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina) Bryan Bayonne, the Defensive Player of the Week, had a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the Pioneers' 106-73 triumph against Bluefield College (Virginia) last Friday.
