Dominant Performances Lead to CAC Baseball Weekly Honors

Strong performances at the plate and on the mound have led Westcliff University (California) graduate student Patrick Morgan and Georgia Gwinnett College senior Shane Anderson to earning the Continental Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week awards.

Morgan, the Hitter of the Week, hit .500 and drove in nine runs to help the Warriors win all four games last week. The second baseman also had four doubles and posted a .750 slugging percentage. He went 3-for-4, with three doubles, in a 13-3 win last Friday to open a weekend series against Justice University (Arizona).

Anderson, the Pitcher of the Week, was dazzling in his second career start, striking out a career-high 13 batters across five scoreless innings last Friday against Georgetown College (Kentucky). The right hander allowed just one hit and two base runners in the dominant pitching performance. He struck out the side during the first, third and fifth innings.
