Four Teams Competing for 2025 CAC Baseball Championship

Four teams are seeking to capture the 2025 Continental Athletic Conference Baseball Championship when the three-day, double-elimination tournament begins Friday, May 2, at Georgia Gwinnett College's Grizzly Baseball Complex in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL

As the top seed, tournament host GGC is scheduled to open postseason play against No. 4 seed Fisher College (Massachusetts) on May 2 at 1 p.m. That game will be followed by No. 2 seed Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina) facing No. 3 seed Florida National University at 5 p.m.

Three games are scheduled for Saturday, May 4, before the championship round beginning on Sunday, May 5, at noon. The tournament champion receives the league's automatic bid to the NAIA Opening Round of the national tournament.

GGC (46-4) won all nine games against CAC opposition this spring, is ranked No. 2 nationally and enters the tournament with an 11-game winning streak from the regular season. Alex Harrell leads the Grizzlies' potent offensive attack with a .466 batting average, 73 runs scored, 20 doubles, and 62 RBI. Braxton Meguiar is hitting at a .422 clip while Jon Ponder has connected on seven homers and is hitting at a .378 clip. Pitcher Ben Harris has a 9-0 record and 2.43 earned run average, with 76 strikeouts. Anthony Patterson III has five victories and a 3.07 ERA in regular-season 10 starts.

Spartanburg Methodist (19-27) is making its postseason debut after posting an 8-3 record against CAC opponents this season. Offensively, the team is led by Jarian Pinckney's .376 batting average, three home runs and 36 RBI. Justin Dawkins has been another consistent weapon in the Pioneers' lineup, batting .373 and having eight home runs and 34 RBI. On the mound, James Shennan leads the way with a 2.73 ERA in 26.1 innings, including 29 strikeouts. Travis Dannecker has a 3.60 ERA and 39 strikeouts across 55 innings.

Florida National (20-17) has won six of its seven conference games and posted a .315 team batting average this spring. Erick Rodriguez leads the lineup at .392, one home run and 20 RBI. Christopher Rivera provides offensive power, connecting on eight home runs and having a .369 average with 36 RBI. Alexis Dubeau holds down the mound for the Conquistadors with a team-leading 4.54 ERA after 39.2 innings, with 31 strikeouts. Tristan Perry has a 5.14 ERA and 21 strikeouts in 21 innings so far this season.

Fisher (25-23) went 7-9 in CAC action this spring. Jatnier Torres leads the team with a .389 average while having three home runs and 35 RBI. Yariel Salinas leads the Falcons with 12 home runs and 43 RBI while Armando Torres is batting .323 and has 22 RBI. On the mound, Jan Melendez leads the team with a 2.83 ERA across 47.2 innings, with 52 strikeouts. Vance Serrano stands 7-4, with a 4.26 ERA, and has posted 66 strikeouts in 63.1 innings.
