Georgia Gwinnett College Sweeps CAC Baseball Weekly Awards
Georgia Gwinnett College seniors Scott Seeker and Ben Harris have been recognized as the Continental Athletic Conference Baseball Hitter and Pitcher of the Week for their contributions in four victories for the Grizzlies.
Seeker, the Hitter of the Week, had a productive week for No. 3-ranked GGC by hitting for the cycle and tying five single-game program records.
The designated hitter hit a home run in three of the four games for the week. The Akron, Ohio, native batted .529 (9-for-17), scored 12 runs, and drove in 12 runs. He matched single-game records with six hits, six runs scored, eight RBI, three doubles, and seven at-bats during last Saturday's game against the University of Tennessee Southern at the Grizzly Baseball Complex.
Seeker became the fourth different player in school history to hit for the cycle in a game.
Harris, the Pitcher of the Week, struck out six batters across six scoreless innings in last Friday's series opener against Tennessee Southern. The right hander scattered four hits in the starting assignment.
The Crystal Lake, Illinois, native lowered his earned run average to 1.99 while improving his record to 6-0 for the season. Harris has allowed two or fewer runs in each of his last three outings.
