Florida National Sweeps CAC Baseball Weekly Awards

Strong performances on the diamond have earned Florida National University senior Roger Viloria and freshman Julian Cazanas honors as the Continental Athletic Conference Baseball Players of the Week.

Viloria, the Hitter of the Week, had a brilliant nine-game stretch for the Conquistadors, with a .500 batting average and .731 slugging percentage. The Caracas, Venezuela, native drove in seven runs and struck out just twice during the week. He connected on a two-run home run against Bryant & Stratton University Albany (New York) on Sunday. Viloria scored seven runs and drew six walks in the nine games.

Cazanas, the Pitcher of the Week, struck out eight batters across six innings in a 12-3 victory against Penn State University New Kensington last Wednesday. The right hander recorded 1.50 walks and hits per inning pitched during the outing.
