Spartanburg Methodist’s Winfield, Georgia Gwinnett College’s Patterson Receive CAC Baseball Weekly Awards

Spartanburg Methodist College (South Carolina) freshman Parker Winfield and Georgia Gwinnett College senior Anthony Patterson III have received the Continental Athletic Conference Baseball Players of the Week awards after strong performances.

Winfield, the Hitter of the Week, hit .455 in a three-game series at Cumberland University (Tennessee). He connected on three home runs and drove in eight runs in the series opener against Phoenix. The freshman also collected a hit in each of the remaining two games, including a double in the series finale.

Patterson III, the Pitcher of the Week, dazzled on the mound by scattering three hits across 5.1 scoreless innings for the No. 3-ranked Grizzlies against OUAZ, a team that received votes in the NAIA preseason poll. The Clarksville, Tennessee, native picked up his first win of the 2025 season. His outing helped GGC complete the weekend with a 3-1 record. Overall, the team has a 12-2 mark.
