2024 CAC Baseball Championship Field, Seeds Set
The four qualifying teams and their seedings have been announced for the 2024 Continental Athletic Conference Baseball Championship Tournament, scheduled May 4-7 at Georgia Gwinnett College in Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Tournament host GGC has earned the top seed, followed by College of the Ozarks (Missouri) with the No. 2 seed, Fisher College (Massachusetts) as the No. 3 seed, and Florida National University rounding out the tournament field with the No. 4 seed.
Opening-day play on Saturday, May 4, will feature Georgia Gwinnett College facing Florida National at 1 p.m. Then, College of the Ozarks plays Fisher at 5 p.m. Play will continue in the double-elimination tournament until a champion is crowned by Tuesday, May 7.
The tournament champion will receive the CAC's automatic bid to the NAIA Opening Round.
Georgia Gwinnett College, ranked No. 3 in the latest NAIA Top 25 poll, has a 39-6 record and has won all five games against CAC opponents this season. The Grizzlies have won the last four tournament titles.
College of the Ozarks, with a 26-20 record, is back in the postseason for the first time since 2019. The Bobcats have won their last four games and have a 17-10 mark at home this spring.
Fisher is riding an eight-game winning streak to have a 23-23 record, while being 3-5 against CAC opponents. The Falcons have reached the tournament's championship round in each of the last three seasons.
Florida National, making CAC postseason play for the second straight season, is 21-22 this spring while being 9-4 against conference opponents. The Conquistadors went 2-1 at last weekend's CAC Showdown in Lawrenceville.
