Georgia Gwinnett College’s Dale Long Named 2025-26 CAC Sports Information Director of the Year

Georgia Gwinnett College Sports Information Director Dale Long has been recognized as the 2025-26 Continental Athletic Conference Sports Information Director of the Year.

This is among several end-of-the-year honors highlighting administrators, staff members and student-athletes within the conference for their accomplishments during this past athletic year.

Long completed his ninth season guiding GGC's athletic communications staff. He also serves as the CAC's Sports Information Director.

During the 2025-26 athletic season, Long was the host SID for six of the league's 13 championship events and NAIA postseason tournament games for men's soccer and baseball. He helped promote more than 225 athletic events across eight sports, including Georgia Gwinnett College's inaugural men's and women's basketball seasons, and managed the department's website, www.GGCAthletics.com, that was voted the second best nationally among NAIA programs.

Long received four district writing awards in the College Sports Communicators' 2025-26 Fred Stabley Sr. Writing Contest and had 10 top-10 finishes in the 2025-26 NAIA-SIDA Publications & Media Contest.

In 2025-26, Long developed an internship program with various academic departments at GGC and nearby University of Georgia. This allowed for expanded social media outreach, story-telling and photography that promoted GGC teams and student-athletes.

For the inaugural men's and women's basketball seasons, Long gained publicity in the Atlanta Journal Constitution and Atlanta's CBS television station for the Lawrenceville, Georgia-based institutional and the Office of Athletics. The NAIA Hoops Report also featured the GGC's first home games and grand opening of the college's new Convocation Center.

Long successfully promoted student-athletes that earned three NAIA National Player of the Week honors and numerous CAC Player of the Week awards. Six student-athletes were named Academic All-Americans by the CSC organization in 2025-26, tying for the most in a single athletic year during the athletic department's 14-year history.

Long is a national coordinator for the CSC Academic All-America program and has previously served as an at-large representative to the NAIA-SIDA Board of Directors.

As CAC Sports Information Director, Long manages the conference's website and weekly and end-of-season all-conference awards processes. He also promotes the CAC's 13 championship events and other league initiatives.
