CAC Awarded 2020-21 Champions of Character Five-Star Conference Rating
The Continental Athletic Conference has been honored as a 2020-21 Champions of Character Five-Star Conference by the National Intercollegiate Athletic Association's national office.
The CAC, formerly known as the Association of Independent Institutions, is one of 17 conferences nationally to be recognized.
NAIA annually honors conferences for having a champions of character conference committee and a competition committee composed of a minimum of three members, along with having at least 50 percent of member institutions receiving the national organization's Champions of Character Five-Star Institution award.
Four member schools earned gold-level ratings for the 2020-21 athletic season – Cottey College (Missouri), Georgia Gwinnett College, Haskell Indian Nations University (Kansas), and Pennsylvania State University Schuylkill.
Silver-level ratings were attained by Crowley's Ridge College (Arkansas), Florida College, Florida National University, and Voorhees College (South Carolina).
The newly formed CAC has 19 full-time members from across the United States, Canada and a U.S. territory for the upcoming 2021-22 athletic season. The conference conducts championships in 11 sports.
